Ideas are a dime a dozen. Just go on Techcrunch and choose any article. Given a 12 month period, you have a fairly equal chance of competing head on with that company. I think the real problem is #4, execution is really really really f-ing hard. haha

Ideas are indeed a dime a dozen --what I meant was betting on the RIGHT idea. The strength behind Google, Qualcomm, Microsoft, etc is that they bet on 10 ideas, knowing that 8-9 of them won't pan out.
If you pick one of the 8 or 9 ideas, you're screwed.
